Stuck in Tundra Muck

Alaska is a state of trucks. Four wheel drive, although not required, sure comes in handy. During the summer months, lots of trails (and not really trails) come available for folks to use. With use comes abuse. Here my brother and a friend decided to try to follow a power line.

Obviously their trip was terminated early. The thick, vacuum-producing peat moss which makes up the 'muskeg' quickly sucked them in. There isn't much like being stuck in soil which is cold, saturated with water and stinks!

After several hours of jacking, blocking and various other futile attempts, they came and got me. My old blue Ford had to be repositioned behind them in order to yank the baby truck out.
